To date eight UK champions can be accredited to the Karamynd kennel and a further thirteen overseas champions, including four International Champions. We have bred six UK Champions, three litter mates, (Ch Karamynd High as a Kite, Ch Karamynd Play to the Crowd and Ch. Karamynd Paws for Applause), Ch Karamynd Lilac Wine, Ch Karamynd Play The Game and Ch. Karamynd Kasey Jones at Earlsdale, and have campaigned and owned two further champions Ch. Newtonglen Tyme Share at Karamynd and Ch. Hopecharm Willie Makeit for Karamynd.

Rowan was first shown in August 2000 at the age of six months and after 14 weeks of showing and by the age of 9 months he had been awarded 5 Best Puppy in Breed awards at Championship Shows, including Best Puppy in Show at the Southern West Highland White Terrier Club and Best Puppy in Show at the North of Ireland West Highland White Terrier Club. These wins made him Top WHWT Puppy 2000.

At his first show out of puppy class and at the tender age of 14 months he was awarded his first reserve CC. By the end of 2003 Rowan had been awarded 9 CC's, 7 with Best of Breed and 11 RCC's.

Our proudest moment was in April 2003 when Rowan was awarded Best in Show at the National Terrier Centenary Show from an entry of nearly 2,000 terriers. The picture below was taken by Harvey Bell when Rowan was awarded Best in Show.

BIS

At Midland Counties Championship Show in October 2003 Rowan was awarded BOB and Group 2.

Rowan was awarded Best of Breed and Group 3 at South Wales Championship Show in July 2004 and Best of Breed and Group 2 at East of England Championship Show one week later.

Rowan has sired nine UK Champions, Ch. Krisma Jammydodger, Ch. Kingsview Willo the Wisp, Ch. Karamynd High as a Kite, Ch Karamynd Paws for Aplause, Ch. Karamynd Play to the Crowd, Ch. Hopecharm Girl Hona Mission, Ch. Lymehills Drambuie, Ch Charosmack Cause to Wonder and Ch Kingsview Make or Break.. He has also sired eight overseas champions, American Ch. Karamynd Sting in the Tale, International Cyprus,Greek and Malta Ch. Karamynd Up and Buzzing, American Ch. Lymehills Famous Grouse, American Ch. Charosmack Cause to Believe, Australian Ch. Charosmack Cause a Storm, Canadian Ch. Charosmack Cause to Hope, New Zealand Champion Karamynd Make It at Konzern and Australian Ch. Karamynd The Laird at Aonais. His son Comdale Curtain Call at Lizandycris currently has 2 CC's.

Following his success at East of England in 2004 Rowan is now in semi retirement enjoying relaxing at home. However, In 2007 he stepped out of retirement to win the Veteran Dog class at Crufts and take the RCC, a photograph taken on the day by Isle Blakenstein, can be seen below. In 2007 he was also Best Veteran in Show at the WHWT Club and the Southern WHWT Club Championship Shows.

Eric is Rowan's son and was born in February 2003.

Eric was judged Best Puppy Dog at Driffield and Midland Counties. At LKA 2003 and Crufts 2004 he was Best Puppy in Breed.

Eric was unbeaten in his Junior classes and was awarded Best in Show at the WHWT Club of Wales Open Show. He was was awarded the Reserve CC after winning the Junior Class at Border Union; a Reserve CC after winning the Post Graduate Dog Class at Birmingham City and a third Reserve CC and Reserve Best in Show at the North of Ireland WHWT Club Show after winning the Open Dog Class.

Eric's 12 CC's were won at Richmond in August 2004, the Southern WHWT Club Show in September, where he also took Best in Show, at Midland Counties in October, LKA in December, the WHWT Club of England April 2005 where he also took Best in Show, Birmingham National May,and Border Union June and the Southern WHWT Club Show in October 2005. At the Southern Club Show he did the double with his litter sister Karamynd Paws for Applause taking the Bitch CC and BOB. In 2006 he gained a further 2 CC's at Scottish Breeds adn Border Union Champ Shows. When gaining his 11th CC in 2007 Eric took the dog CC and Best in Show at the WHWT Club of England. He was shown again at the Welsh Kennel Club Show in August 2007 where was won his 12th CC and BOB.

Eric was also one of the 10 finalists who took part in the 2004 Junior Warrant Competition held at Crufts in 2005. He was judged to be the Reserve Junior Warrant Winner of the Year 2004.

Eric has sired two UK champions with other promising youngsters in the ring and in 2008 Eric retired from the show ring.. He now enjoys life in Suffolk where he is a local celebrity attending dinner parties, vintage rallies and running by the sea. We hear all about his exploits and his litter sister keeps sending post cards asking to join him when she retires.

Eric is now in retirement enjoying a more relaxing life at home togehter with his litter sisters Ch. Karamynd Paws for Applause and Ch. Karamynd Play to the Crowd. He is the sire of two UK champions (Ch. Karamynd Lilac Wine and Ch Crinan Come Fly with Me), and the sire of two overseas champions (American Ch. Karamynd Hold the Dream and American Ch. Karamynd No Strings on Me). His daughter Brychden Kite Mark won Best Puppy in Breed at Border Union in 2008 and his son Gloonbeggane Celtic Tiger was awarded the RCC at the Welsh Kennel Club in August 2008..

Sabrina, a litter sister to Eric and Hattie is known at home as Breeny.

She was lightly shown as a youngster and was placed 2nd in a large minor puppy bitch class at Birmingham National Championship Show in September 2003; 2nd in a large Special Puppy Bitch class at Crufts 2004; 1st in Junior Bitch at Border Union Championship Show and 1st in Post Graduate Bitch at Driffield Championship Show in 2004. Breeny was also Best Puppy in Show at the Midland Counties Scottish Terrier and WHWT Club Show in February 2004.

Beeny's four CC's have been won at Club Shows and Crufts. She won the CC at the North of Ireland WHWT Club Show and the CC and Best in Show at the Southern WHWT Club Show in 2005, the CC at Crufts in 2006 and 2007.

Breeny is the dam of NZ Champion Encore for Konzern. She is also the dam of Karamynd Lilac wine who has 1 CC and 4 RCC's and in 2008 litter mates Karamynd Playing Away at Tomlyndon and Karamynd En Cue for Kingsview have each been awarded two Best Puppy in Breed awards.

Hattie is a litter sister to Eric and Breeny.

She was lightly shown as a youngster and stepped into the showring after her litter sister, Ch. Karamynd Pause for Applause became a champion.

Hattie won the RCC at Border Union, the CC at the Welsh Kennel Club, the CC at the WHWT Club in 2006 and the CC, BOB and Best in Show at Scottish Breeds, CC at WELKS and CC at Southern Counties in 2007.

She was joined in the showring in 2006 by her son, Karamynd Play the Game, who in 2008 became a UK Champion. Her other son Karamynd Playing the Game joined the Tweed Kennel in Sweden and is now a Swedish and Norwegian Champion.

Lilac is a Eric's daughter and was born in August 2005. She was lightly shown. In 2006 and won 1st in the puppy bitch class at Southern Counties where she was also Best Puppy Bitch, 1st in the puppy bitch class at Three Counties and 1st in the puppy bitch class and Best Puppy in Breed at Bath. In November 2006 she won the Junior bitch class, Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex in Show at the WHWT Club of England Open Show. In November 2006 she won the junior bitch class and her first CC at the Southern WHWT Club Championship show.

Her litter sister Karamynd Hold the Dream has made her mark on the show scene in the USA and at the age of 13 months she became an American Champion. Her litter brother, Karamynd Goes to Ravnegaard, lives in Denmark and has two CAC's.

Lilac was not shown again until August 2007. She won the limit bitch class and was awarded the Reserve CC at Bournemouth and in September at the City of Birmingham she won the CC and in March 2008 she gained her crown winning the bitch CC and Best of Breed at Scottish Breeds. Lilac has now retired from the show ring and hopes that her children will step into the ring in 2009.

Top West Highland White Terrier 2000 (points system)

4 CC's (3 x BOB); 10 RCC's; 1 x CACIB with BOB

Kasey was owned by Cherry and Keith Jones and is the first Champion born here at Karamynd.

Kasey's dam was Newtonglen Snow Dove at Karamynd (Chloe) who was the first bitch we owned. she was mated to Ch. Rotella the Fezzant Plucka and Kasey was the only dog in the litter.

During his show career Kasey was awarded 4 CC's; (3 with Best of Breed and 1 with Reserve Best in Show at the Southern WHWT Club Show) 10 RCC's and 1 CACIB (with Best of Breed).

Kasey was also successful in the Group Ring and achieved one Group 1 and one Group 3.

We are very proud of Kasey's success and are delighted to say that Kasey was the Top WHWT on the points system in 2000.

(Shannon)

3 CC's (1 x BOB); 4 RCC's

The photograph below was taken at National Terrier Championship Show 2000 where Shannon was Best of Breed and awarded her third vital CC thus making her a champion. She can also be seen on the 2000 National Terrier Web Site.

During her show career Shannon was awarded 3 CC's (one with Best of Breed) and 4 RCC's and 1 Reserve CACIB.

Shannon's litter sister (Ch. Newtonglen Dainty Girl) is also a UK, American and Canadian Champion.
